Once, I told myself to face the pain and immediately realized how important it was. Sometimes, heartache arises from our conscious mistakes, such as jealousy, envy, etc. It is vital not to be in denial but to recognize them, keeping a close watch until they die out. It is better not to avoid the situation where they can fully manifest. This way, we can experience shame and pain caused by those mistakes, which will help us eliminate them from our character faster.
In medicine, there is a concept of remission through exacerbation. To recover from illness, you must reach the maximum point, the "top of the mountain." Despair arises out of hopelessness brought on by the situation, and suddenly, your will awakens. And then it becomes clear how to get down from this mountain as quickly as possible, as safe as possible, and which route to take that will get you there.
We must humbly admit our faults, our deficiencies - our illnesses. Isn't sin illness? I think we can draw a parallel here. After all, all of us at least once experienced pain caused by our actions. But due to the lack of willpower, we could not face it.
Eventually, each person will reach his maximum, but the sooner he does, the more energy and chances he has to cope with it.
Light does not tolerate darkness and gradually helps to drive it out of us. And if we live in denial, running away from recognizing our negative thoughts and emotions, hiding from them, then, over time, we stop noticing even the worst manifestations in our behavior. Because, at some point, we ran away from the pain.
It is crucial to be able to admit your own mistakes. And not to someone else but to yourself. And sometimes, it is harder to admit to yourself than to someone else. You can still lie to a stranger but cannot deceive yourself.
Be honest with yourself. Admit your flaws. Time does not wait.
